1. Introduction

Seafarers are one of the most vulnerable professional groups, facing numerous physical, emotional, and psychological challenges. Long voyages, isolation from family, stressful onboard conditions, and high demands on physical endurance make seafarers' health a top priority for the international community. The goal of this program is to create a mechanism for shore-based support for seafarers aimed at improving their physical and mental well-being by implementing modern solutions in the field of health and wellness. At its core, the program leverages services and products from Mama San, developed specifically for seafarers. The program will be implemented through a network of Seafarers' Wellness Centers in collaboration with international maritime unions.

2. Need for Seafarers' Support

Life at sea is fraught with unique challenges, including:

  • Long working shifts and physical strain. The job of a seafarer requires high endurance and concentration, which leads to significant physical and psycho-emotional stress.
  • Psychological and emotional stress. Isolation, limited communication with loved ones, and life in confined spaces lead to chronic stress and emotional burnout.
  • Health risks. Limited access to medical services onboard, sleep disorders, chronic fatigue, and harsh environmental conditions exacerbate health issues. Seafarers are at increased risk of depression, anxiety disorders, and professional burnout, which reduces productivity, increases the risk of accidents, and diminishes overall quality of life.

3. Role of Mama San's Services and Products in Improving Seafarers' Well-being

The services and products from Mama San provide comprehensive solutions for maintaining the physical and mental health of seafarers. These include products and methods specifically designed for this profession, helping to effectively address seafarers' primary challenges:

  • Stress and anxiety reduction. Recovery programs using unique formulations help normalize emotional states and reduce stress levels.
  • Improved sleep quality. Specially developed relaxation techniques and products promote the restoration of healthy sleep cycles, which is especially important for seafarers working on shift schedules.
  • Relief from inflammation and muscle pain. Mama San's products with natural ingredients help effectively address inflammation and pain after physical exertion.
  • Support for cognitive function. Services aimed at restoring and enhancing cognitive function help seafarers maintain focus and productivity despite fatigue.

The services and products from Mama San are safe and legal in most countries, making them a reliable tool for seafarers' wellness and support.

4. Key Components of the Seafarers' Support Program

The program will be implemented through a network of Seafarers' Wellness Centers and will include the following components:

  • Access to Mama San’s products and services. A personalized approach to each seafarer will offer a wide range of products and services aimed at supporting health and well-being. These may include both physical and psycho-emotional recovery programs.
  • Personalized recommendations for using products and services. Each seafarer will receive individual recommendations on the use of services and products, based on their health condition and needs.
  • Psychological support. Experienced psychologists will be available at the Wellness Centers to assist seafarers experiencing chronic stress and address psycho-emotional health issues.
  • Specialized burnout prevention programs. The program will include techniques aimed at preventing professional burnout, which is of particular importance in maritime work conditions.
  • Monitoring and feedback. Data on the impact of wellness services on the health of seafarers will be collected during the program’s implementation. Based on feedback and analysis, recommendations for improving the program will be developed.

5. Program Prospects

The implementation of this program will yield the following results:

  • Improved physical and mental health of seafarers. The program will have a significant impact on seafarers' overall health, improving their quality of life and work performance.
  • Reduced burnout and accident risks. By improving psycho-emotional well-being and health, the number of accidents caused by fatigue and stress will decrease.
  • Enhanced reputation of shipping companies. Shipping companies implementing this program will demonstrate their commitment to the health and well-being of their crews, strengthening their image as responsible employers.
  • Commitment to MLC-2006 principles. The program adheres to international occupational health and safety standards and reinforces seafarers' rights, ensuring their safety and health.
  • Collaboration between Seafarers' Centers and unions. The use of modern wellness solutions, such as Mama San’s services and products, contributes to creating a safer and more sustainable maritime industry.

Conclusion

This seafarers' support program, utilizing innovative services and products from Mama San, fully complies with contemporary occupational health and safety standards for seafarers. We invite partners to join this initiative to create better working and living conditions for those who ensure the smooth functioning of global trade every day.
